The Great Central Railway at Loughborough is One of the few places in the world where scheduled full size steam trains operate on a double track. The whole site is dedicated to the bygone age of steam, with nostalgic machinery and exhibits.
It was one of these exhibits that required specialist attention by NAV's Visitor Centre Installation Team. Within the left luggage area of the station platform a motion detection audio playback system was designed and installed to enhance the visitor experience.
Other than a small PIR detector mounted on a shelf, the whole system including the extensive wiring was hidden within the exhibits, maintaining the original integrity of the display. Upon entry to the room visitors trigger the hidden system to hear a detailed audio commentary. |
